The new MacBook Air M2 will hit the market in 2022 according to the latest rumors. It would incorporate a new Apple Silicon processor more powerful and efficient than the acclaimed M1.

The MacBook Air M2 could have a similar aesthetic to the 24-inch M1 iMac from 2021

While it is true that a few weeks ago, Apple unveiled its new line of MacBook M1 Pro and M1 Max, the truth is that rumors of future devices continue to emerge. They don’t look like they’ll be launched before 2022, including new iPad Pro, an iPhone SE, and also a redesigned iMac.

Along with these future releases, a few hours ago there was a leak on twitter of the account @LeaksApplePro in which we find some data of the supposed MacBook Air M2:

As can be seen in these images on his Twitter account, the MacBook Air M2 would abandon its characteristic asymmetric thickness design and would become completely straight. The new design resembles the previous generation MacBook pro M1.

If to this “remodeled” design, Apple decides to add new colors, we will see a MacBook Air M2 very similar to the 24-inch iMac with M1: pastel tones, white frame and no notch, that has already been seen in MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max chip. The keyboard would change to white and it seems that Touch ID reader would also be included.

New ports for the new MacBook Air also appear in the leaks. It would include: two Thunderbolt USB-C, headphone jack and MagSafe 3. This 3rd generation port would be in charge of allow fast charging to the new Air M2.

The arrival of the new MacBook Air with M2 chip is not expected before spring 2022. The most certain would be around June at WWDC22. The rumors will continue to arrive in the coming weeks, and with greater force throughout the first months of 2022.
