M50 traffic: HGV involved in late night crash at Red Cow – latest updates

Motorists on the M50 at Red Cow are warned to expect delays on Monday night following a road traffic collision involving an HGV.

Gardai said junction 9 of the motorway southbound has been closed, while traffic is also facing disruption on the northbound carriageway while emergency services attend the incident.

Diversions are in place, Gardai said.

Traffic Infrastructure Ireland confirmed the incident took place at around 9.30pm on Monday.

Fire crews are also in attendance.

Dublin Fire Brigade said on Twitter: “We’re currently attending a HGV road traffic collision on @M50Dublin J9 Red Cow Southbound. Expect delays on approach #M50.”

Vehicle recovery gets under way

In an update just after 11.30pm, Dublin Fire Brigade said: “We’ve now finished on scene at this collision however diversions remain in place as recovery gets underway.”
