LinkedIn announced last October the closure of the Chinese version of the professional social network and indicated that it would focus on developing a new strategy in the country. Now, two months later, the first fruit of this new strategy sees the light: the InCareer app.

The new app replaces the local version of LinkedIn in China

The application, designed so that both Chinese professionals can find new job opportunities As for companies in the country to search for talent, it is now available for download on both iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as through the website www.linkedin.cn, a domain previously used by the local version of the social network.

The purpose of the app, therefore, seems to be the same as that of the professional social network owned by Microsoft since 2016, but this local version meets the approval of the Chinese authorities. LinkedIn has already been accused in the past of close collaboration with Chinese censorship. In the app, in addition, companies in the country will continue to have access to candidates anywhere in the world, and it will also allow Chinese companies that wish to advertise outside the country, to do so.

Therefore, little changes. Through InCareer, users in the Chinese country will be able to continue to access most of the LinkedIn experience -advanced search for jobs, industries, businesses, receive alerts about new job opportunities based on the information provided, etc.- as well as companies can continue to find talent in the same way as if they used the local version of LinkedIn in China.
