Kindle Scribe, complete analysis and three things that have surprised me

A few weeks ago I told you about the launch of the Kindle Scribe, the Kindle with which we can write on the screen, the one that comes with a pencil that allows us to create notes on documents, with a 300ppi resolution and a 10.2-inch screen.

Now, after using it for almost a month, I am ready for a complete review that I leave here in video:

As you can see, it is love at first sight. Being able to write on the books, adding notes (the writing does not interfere with the content of the book), adds an important dimension for reading fans.

These are the things that have surprised me, and then I comment on what I would like to see in the future.

What I liked the most

Screen and pencil resolution, those are my two big surprises, since having a large screen is not easy with this technology.

It is a 10.2-inch screen, large, enormous, ideal for reading at home, since it is not the most portable thing in the world, of course. This screen size also makes it ideal to take it to school and be able to take notes on the documents that we have previously imported into the Kindle. I was surprised that the agility is maintained with such a large screen, approaching the experience that one would have with a tablet.

The resolution of the pen is much higher than I expected. Not only can you take notes, you can also draw, and handwriting is perfectly recognized regardless of writing speed, something difficult to achieve with an e-ink display.

The third thing that has positively surprised me is being able to write perfectly by resting my hand on the screen. It may seem silly, but for those who are taking notes in class, writing without touching the screen can be crazy.

What I would like to see in the future

Although Amazon has already confirmed that we will have software updates to offer more functions for the pen, it is something that I have missed in this first version. I can only write, erase and underline, without options to choose the type of pen.

It’s enough to take notes, but if I want to draw, I need a bigger nib option.

On the other hand, the response to my finger is not as good as the response to the pen, you can see it in the video. It would be really nice to have in the settings a way to increase or decrease the touch sensitivity.
