John Wick director is working on a Rainbow Six movie with Michael B. Jordan

Ubisoft may be having a hard time with their games division, but that doesn’t mean they’ve given up on investing in their franchises, including media like TV and film.

Chad Stahelski, best known for directing the film John Wich, will take on the helm of an adaptation based on Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, one of Ubisoft’s most iconic franchises.

The first film based on Rainbow Six will feature none other than the acclaimed Michael B. Jordan as John Clark, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Jordan previously played Clark, a Navy SEAL turned CIA agent, in the 2021 film Without Remorse – another adaptation of a work by Tom Clancy.

If you haven’t heard of Without Remorse, well, you’re not missing much. Filmed during the height of Covid and finally released via Amazon Prime Video in 2021, the feature received mixed reviews.

As for Stahelski, he seems well into video game adaptations, and is also set to direct a live-action adaptation of PlayStation’s Ghost of Tsushima.

For now, we can only wait to find out who B. Jordan’s castmates will be in the Rainbow Six movie and if the director will be able to do a good job in both adaptations.

Remember that Ubisoft is also working on a series based on Assassin’s Creed for Netflix.

What do you think of this wave of adaptations based on video games?
