For a long time we have been hearing rumors of a change in the platform HBO Max, and a few hours ago we have known all the details. The platform, formerly known as HBO, and which later became HBO Max, has already left what is the future on the horizon. We tell you.
It’s simple: HBO Max will be renamed Max. This is the result of the merger of Warner Bros. and Discovery, resulting in “Warner. Discovery.” There will not only be a name change, but also new content and, unfortunately, a feared -as well as expected- price increase is confirmed. The change will first affect users in the United States and, later, it will then be extended to other markets such as Spain.
At a press conference, David Zaslav (CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery) has presented the company’s plans for the new platform. Max will arrive in the US in May of this year with a catalog of well-known titles and, also, with news that they are important (many of them were already known, everything must be said).
These are the prices of Max in the US
There are three options that will be made available to users and, the truth is that there is an increase that is relevant, especially if you do not want the ads to be present in the reproductions of movies and series. These are the options for the US (which everything indicates that they will be transferred to the rest of the European regions):
- Max Ad-Lite: $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. This includes announcements and two simulcasts; Full HD quality; are includes downloads; and offers 5.1 sound quality.
- Max Ad Free: $15.99 per month or $149.99 per year. It does not include ads and, in addition, it allows two simultaneous transmissions; Full HD quality; thirty downloads to view content offline; and 5.1 sound quality.
- Max Ultimate Ad Free: $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year. It is ad-free and allows for four simultaneous streams. Its quality is 4K UHD, with 100 downloads to view content offline and Dolby Atmos sound.
When will you arrive in Spain?
Well, there is no exact date for this to happen, but it will be in sometime in the year 2024, as the Spanish HBO Max platform has made clear on social networks. Therefore, it is not a bad idea for you to start thinking about what you want to do once the change is effective in our country.
In 2024, HBO Max will become Max in Spain, with HBO Originals, hit series, movies, reality shows and much more. We will reveal more details closer to the release date.
