You can register for the security event at an early bird discount price until October 27th. The IT Security Day takes place on November 17th in Gelsenkirchen.

This year’s edition of the IT Security Day will take place on November 17th at the Institute for Internet Security (if(is)) at the Westfälische Hochschule in Gelsenkirchen. The focus of the conference this time is on current attacks such as ransomware, supply chain or DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) and their successful countermeasures. The program for the event organized jointly by if(is) and the voonze Academy is largely complete, and ticket sales are now also open.

Since the beginning of IT – and continued with digitization – the IT security problems have been increasing every year. This can be attributed, among other things, to the fact that the current IT is not designed and built securely enough to be successfully protected against intelligent attacks by hackers. In addition, the complexity of the IT systems and infrastructures is increasing, the attackers’ methods are becoming more sophisticated and the targets of the attacks are becoming more and more lucrative due to the higher degree of digitization.

All in all, this means that the risks are increasing sharply, leading to high levels of damage, as can be seen from current surveys: The German economy suffers total damage of more than 220 billion euros every year as a result of theft, espionage and sabotage.

At the IT Security Day, the challenges of current and advanced attacks will be discussed from different perspectives in order to work out which cyber security measures help under which conditions to protect company values and thus keep the risks as low as possible
