Many Android phones have the Always On Display feature, which allows you to see useful information permanently on the screen, such as the time, date, battery level, and pending notification icons.

Last year we heard that last year’s iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max would have this feature, but it didn’t. Fortunately, it is very likely to be introduced with the iPhone 14.

The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have an LTPO panel, which allows a dynamic refresh rate that can drop to 10 Hz. Now, a new leak suggests that The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be able to go down to 1Hz.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has corroborated that information, so it looks like Always On Display will be a reality this year.

Gurman also claims that with the arrival of iOS 16, Apple plans to update the lock screen interface and could introduce wallpapers with widget-like capabilities.

It is also planned the “Always On Screen” functionalitywhich will allow you to see basic information and possibly also notifications even when the phone is locked.

However, this feature will be exclusive to iPhone 14 Pro 6.1-inch and iPhone 14 Pro Max 6.7-inch, since the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 14 Max will not have the necessary LTPO technology to reduce the refresh rate.

Gurman also confirms that the Pro models will ditch the notch in favor of screen cutouts and will feature a new 48MP rear camera. He also claims that these models will carry the new 5nm A16 chip.
