Intel May Launch Raptor Lake Refresh CPU Line in August

After rumors hinted at the upcoming launch of Intel’s Raptor Lake Refresh lineup for desktops, a tipster suggested that the CPUs could be expected in August of this year. The components must be an updated version of the 13th generation Raptor Lake released last year.

A recent leak highlighted that the chips would be launched in the third quarter of 2023, but now the leaker @wxnod, in response to another user on Twitter, was categorical in bringing a more precise date – this moment, by the way, would mark about a year of the launches of the high-performance 13th generation K family.

Intel Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs should still use the ‘Intel 7’ process and will adopt minor optimizations such as faster clocks, while still being compatible with LGA 1700/1800 motherboards. It is possible that we will still have an improvement in multi-threading performance and use of large cache pools. Rumors also suggest that the DLVR (Digital Voltage Regulator) is present in this new line.

The series will include all entry-level and consumer workstation platforms with 35W, 65W, and 125W models, and should be a mid-range solution like the Emerald Rapids-SP (from the Xeon platform) before the true high-end parts arrive.

The desktop family is expected to get at least some form of Meteor Lake-S, along with Arrow Lake chips which will offer huge improvements. Intel’s next Vision event is scheduled for May 9th, and this could be one of the highlights of the conference.
