Another test feature is coming to the Instagram app: the ability to leave notes in direct messages.
A new dynamic that adds another option to interact with your followers beyond the comments on your posts. We tell you what this new function is about.
Instagram will let you set statuses in Direct Messages
As mentioned in Xda Developers, Instagram is testing a new dynamic within the Direct Messages section.
When you open this section you will find a new section at the top where the “Notes” will be published. There you will find the option to create your own notes, which will be visible to your followers, and the notes of the users you follow on Instagram.
What is the function of this new option? It is a new way to communicate with your followers or groups of friends. It can work as if they were the WhatsApp states to share a quick thought, communicate some news, a quick warning, a thank you, etc.
When you publish these notes, users will not be notified, so your followers will have to take a look at this section to see if there is any pending content. And another detail that you should keep in mind is that these notes only last 24 hours.
Apparently, Instagram will allow us to decide for whom we want to post a note: our followers or close friends. So it can also be an extra option to quickly communicate with your nearby Instagram group. And of course, users who see your note will be able to leave comments or write a message.
At the moment, this new feature is only being tested with a small group of users, so we still don’t know what Instagram’s plans will be regarding this new dynamic. We may soon see this new feature in the stable version of the Instagram app.
