Instagram now lets you create collections of posts shared with up to 250 friends

In addition to private collections of posts on Instagram, the social network is introducing as of this last Wednesday (29) a feature for sharing these libraries with friends. In an announcement on Twitter, it says that you can now save content into collaborative collections, which you and your friends can view and contribute to.

With this, it is possible for several users to collaborate separating posts that they think are valid for the collection. According to Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri’s IG Updates channel, you and your friends can save posts from your Instagram feed, Explore page, and even DMs.

To use the feature, simply click on the bookmark icon in the bottom right corner of the post you want to save, select the option to create a new collaborative collection, and activate the option that says “Allow friends to join this collection”. Up to 250 users can collaborate.

Instagram says you can also create a collaborative collection from within a chat. Once this is done, anyone in the chat will be able to add or remove images from the shared collection, making the process more fun.

But if you add a post from a private account to a collaborative collection, only people who follow the account will be able to see the post. And if a creator decides to delete a post you’ve already uploaded, Instagram will remove it from the collection anyway. Nor can a collaborative collection be made private again after it has been created, nor can you share private collections that you have already created with others.
