Samsung released the One UI 5.1 update earlier this year, but soon after, users started complaining about high battery drain. The issue was problematic in nature, especially as it affects flagship devices. Devices like the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 were among the first to be affected, but complaints about the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Fold3 soon began to surface as well. The culprit seemed to be Samsung’s native keyboard, which was consuming more battery than usual after the One UI 5.1 update. Samsung confirmed that it was indeed the keyboard, and released a fix with a new Samsung Keyboard app update v5.6.10.31 in early March which means most users will have installed it by now. Still, many users might have missed this update, so users who have One UI 5.1 update on their Samsung devices should update the Samsung Keyboard app to the latest version. The app can be manually updated through the Samsung Galaxy Store if you don’t have automatic updates turned on. To do this, go to Galaxy Store > Updates > Samsung Keyboard > Update. Another way is to open Samsung Keyboard > Settings > About Samsung Keyboard > Update.
