Huawei is expected to renew its lineup of advanced smartphones this year with the launch of the next Nova 20 Pro, Mate X3 and P60, models that should bring improvements in internal hardware and construction. According to information shared on Weibo, a social network equivalent to Twitter, the X3 and P60 models should come equipped with Qualcomm chipsets.
Apparently, these models will come with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC — up to 3.2 GHz octa-core with 4 nm lithography from TSMC — together with the Adreno 730 graphics card (GPU) promising 10% more performance and energy consumption reduced by 30%, increasing the autonomy of smartphones powered by these CPUs and GPUs.
About that, the Huawei Nova 20 model should use the same processor, but with a maximum frequency limited to 3 GHz instead of the standard 3.2 GHz clock of the component. This limitation must be implemented by the company through a software block, possibly with the aim of extending the useful life of the device.
This new rumor suggests that the Chinese brand for some reason should not use Qualcomm’s current generation of processors, however, users should find high processing power. For now, there is still no information on availability and price, but informants point to the 2nd quarter of 2023.
