Against all odds, Huawei is having a resurgence in the field of high-end mobile phones with the series Huawei Mate 60, which marks a return to 5G thanks to the Kirin 9000S chip. The latter shows that the Chinese company does not allow itself to be bowed down by US sanctions and that it has everything it needs at home to continue moving forward. With that said, expert sources indicate that Huawei seeks to double its mobile exports in 2024, in other words, it seeks to sell between 60 and 70 million smartphones. One of the vital elements to achieve this goal is the flagship Huawei P70which will arrive during the second half of 2024.

Huawei P70 What can we expect?

It’s still a while before we officially hear anything about this device, but the rumor cycle and unofficial media are already doing their job and painting a good prospect of what we can expect from the Huawei P70.

At the design level, don’t expect a revolution, the P60 was already quite pretty, so we’ll probably end up repeating ourselves in terms of appearance. Be that as it may, we speak of a 6.7-inch OLED display with 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Similarly, supply chain sources indicate that it will retain the under-screen optical fingerprint technology used in the Mate 60 series.

When it comes to hardware, we are still not clear if Huawei will bet on the Kirin 9000S chip that is already capable of 5G or will opt for another option, but from Taiwan they report that the Huawei P70 would have more than 90% domestically manufactured parts. There is also speculation about generative AI, and as you may know, this requires some dedicated hardware to be at an acceptable level.

If we talk about photography, the Huawei P70 will almost certainly have a triple camera system, which could be headed by a 108MP main sensor and accompanied by a 16MP ultra wide angle and 12MP telephoto lens (with optical zoom).

As always, take all this information with a pinch of salt and healthy skepticism.

Additionally, we know that Huawei is doing everything in its power to ensure a smooth launch for the Huawei P70 series, and by that we mean having the necessary inventory to meet demand. Finally, the brand will cut ties with Qualcomm and exclusively use its Kirin processors from 2024.
