WhatsApp has just been activated for all users four additional text formats which are added to the four that already existed. This is how unnumbered lists, numbered lists, code blocks and textual quotes arrive.

The four new text formats can only be used with codes since for now they do not appear in the contextual menus when selecting a portion of the text, as happens with bold, italic, strikethrough and monospace.

More formatting for your WhatsApp messages

WhatsApp gives you new tools to create clear and easy-to-read messages with the four new text formats: numbered lists, unnumbered lists, in-text citation and code block.

Like the four existing codes (bold, italic, strikethrough, and monospace), you can use the above formats with special codes that you need to add to the text portion that you want to modify.

Text Format

For write lists you need start the line or with the number 1 followed by a period (1.) for numbered lists or with a hyphen (-) or asterisk

. Every time you start a new line afterward, a new list item will be created. For write blocks of code

With a format similar to monospace, all you have to do is encapsulate the code fragment between the quotes “. It is important that you use these quotes and not similar ones, because then it will not work. Finally, textual quotes

They are the easiest of all, since you only need to start the line with the > symbol and then write what you want. For example “> He who gets up early, God helps him.” Here is a summary of all the codes. Code Example
