One of the things that is believed that it is not possible to avoid is that the smartphone you use listens to you. But, in reality, this is not so. There are different possibilities to achieve this in the terminals that use the operating system Androidand we will show you the one that we believe is most effective because it is direct and simple.
Basically, what we are going to propose is that remove the permission an app has to access the microphone that the telephone has, which is the way used by developments such as Google’s to listen without you knowing. If you do this, you will increase your privacy significantly, something that you should keep in mind because sometimes this is not given the importance it should be.
Disable access to the microphone on your Android
Let’s take as an example the application Google -and by extension his assistant-, which is one of the most frequently listened to. But, obviously, the steps that you will find below can be used with any other development that you have installed (such as Facebook or Twitter). What you can be sure of is that listening to the corresponding app will end. This is what you have to do:
- Open the Settings of your terminal, to do this the fastest way is to click on the gear-shaped icon that is among the applications you have installed.
- Among the options that you will see on the screen, look for the Google section and, once you find it, enter it as usual.
- Locate the section called Permissions at the top of the screen and click on it. You will see all the options that exist in Android, but the one that interests you is Microphone. Access its settings and now what you have to do is choose Do not allow.
- Once this is done, Google will not have access to the specific hardware and therefore will not be able to listen with the microphone of the phone that you have with Android. You have finished.
There are other possibilities that are also effective, such as disabling the Google assistant that exists in Android. But, globally and thinking of greater utility with other applications, we believe that the most effective thing is that you remove the corresponding permissions. Thus, quite simple and without risk, you have control of the apps that can use it. Obviously, the Telephone or WhatsApp application should always have it activated, so that it works optimally.
