How to see the history of what you’ve searched for in Google Lens

Google Lens is Google’s magic eye with which you can search, know the species of a plant, scan QR codes and a long, long etcetera. After analyzing something with Google Lens, maybe want to check back later. Where is the history?

Everything you visit or search for in apps like Google Chrome or Google Maps is recorded, so it would be normal to think that the Google Lens search history would be safe and accessible. It is not like this. If you like retrieve your past searches in Lensyou can, although only in some cases.

Where is Google Lens history

Your search history in Google Lens is in the same place as it is in all other Google apps: in Google My Activity, a Web page that you can consult both on your PC and on your mobile. At the moment Google Lens does not save the history locally, as it does in some browsers.

In Google My Activity you can see all the searches you’ve done in Google Lens, although without details in the vast majority of cases. While not particularly practical for users who want to retrieve past searches, it’s interesting from a privacy standpoint that Google doesn’t keep a copy of everything you’ve pointed the camera at while Google Lens was active. Lens searches made to photos from your gallery also do not appear.

How to see what you looked at in Lens

Did an important Lens quest and want to retrieve it later? You may still be able to retrieve it. as long as you take some action. That is, if you scanned a QR code from a web page, you can retrieve it as long as you open that web page; if you scanned a pole, you will be able to recover it if you deployed a search on said pole.

When it comes to recovering your Google Lens history, you should keep in mind that some searches they will not appear associated with Google Lens, but to another application. For example, if you searched for a QR code with Lens and opened it in the browser, it will appear mapped to Google Chrome. If the code contained an address and you opened it in Google Maps, it will appear assigned to Maps.

To make matters even more confusing, when you select text in Google Lens and search for selected results, it will appear in history as part of Lens, but if you do the same with an image, it will appear as part of image search. This will make it nearly impossible for you to use Google’s history app filters to find past searches.

With all this, you will be able to recover some of your searches in Lens, but as long as you did a search or opened an application from them. Everything else will vanish forever like tears in the rain, which can play tricks on you. Remember that there are many applications to scan QR codes that do save a history to consult later.
