The Google Lens app is getting an update that brings reverse Google Images search.

In addition to the functions that we already know, the app now makes it easier for us to search for any image in the Google search engine without having to carry out any extra action.

So you can search images with Google Lens from your mobile

If you have the Google Lens app installed on your Android device, you will know that it has a series of functions to search almost everything on the web. Thanks to the mobile camera and the app’s AI we can find information about any object.

And now a new function is added. As mentioned in 9to5Google, Lens now has a shortcut that allows you to search for an image with Google Images reverse search dynamics.

You will find this new option when you open the image or photograph that you have taken with the camera. An icon of a globe with a magnifying glass is added to the viewer, which by simply pressing it will take us to a Google search.

You will see that it repeats the Google Images formula, which returns results taking into account the image that we have previously loaded in the search engine. In this case, we will not have to perform that action, since Lens will do the work for us.

And of course, there are still the rest of the functions that we already know from Lens, such as the options to translate, select text in the image, search for an element within the image, etc.

Keep in mind that the functions that will give you information will depend on the type of image you have chosen. For example, if you have taken a photo of a menu then you will see that the “Food” option presents you with information about a certain dish. Or if you have a math problem in the image, just by clicking on “Homework” the app will show you step by step how to solve the problem.
