iMessage It is the default instant messaging application on the iOS mobile operating system. Although it is used less than WhatsApp, there are many iPhone users who regularly use it to stay in touch with their friends and family.

In iMessage, it’s not so easy to know if someone blocked you, but knowing how the color of the chat bubbles works can be very helpful.

However, in the same way that someone can block you on WhatsApp, they could also block you on iMessage. To find out if someone blocked you in iMessage there is no foolproof method, unless the person confirms it.

However, iOS messaging has certain features that can be revealing. For example, received message notifications or the color of the chat bubbles. In short, knowing the following details you will easily detect if you have been blocked.

How to find out if you’ve been blocked in iMessage

-Check if the contact has read the message: Like other instant messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram, you can enable the read receipt feature in iMessage. In this case, if a person has blocked you, iMessage will not tell you if the contact has opened the message.

However, it is also possible that the individual has turned off delivery and read notifications. Another possible reason why it does not tell you if the message has been read is that it was sent by SMS.

-Pay attention to the color of the chat bubble. Normally, when two iMessage users communicate from one iOS device, the chat bubbles are displayed in blue color. However, when a contact blocks you, the bubbles start to appear green.

However, in this case something similar happens to what happens with the delivery and reading reports. And it is that if the message is sent by means of SMS, the bubbles will also appear in green. Also, if your contact is now communicating from an operating system other than Apple, the chat bubbles will also turn green.

-Watch out for the moon icon in iMessage. On iOS, Focus Mode and Do Not Disturb are options that allow you to turn off notifications from apps and contacts selected by the user. If one of your contacts has any of the aforementioned options activated, it is likely that they will not read your message. You’ll know if the individual has blocked you if you don’t see a notification in the chat window that includes a moon symbol next to it.
