One of the options that Netflix offers is the possibility of creating different profiles in an account. This allows, for example, each member of the house to have their own so that everything is perfectly organized and possibilities such as the recommendations are exactly what they should be in each case. From any of the clients that Netflix has, it is possible to do this, but we believe that the best options are the ones in Smart TVs and phones (and by extension, tablets). The web version also offers this function, but it is not very common to access the video platform in this way, so the use is so minor that we have decided to focus on the other two possibilities that are the majority.
This is how you create a profile on Netflix step by step
We leave you the actions you have to perform to register a profile in the service we are talking about. Having one allows everything is focused on that person, so the access to the lists and the recommendation options are much more effective. The number that Netflix allows is five, so we recommend you use them carefully so you don’t waste them. These are the steps you have to take:
On a mobile device
- Open the Netflix app as usual and enter your credentials if necessary.
- You will now see a screen that reads who is watching or something similar. In the middle part, you will see a box with the ‘+’ symbol, click on it.
- You must now put the name that the profile will have and, in the event that it is for a child, indicate it here (in this way you can establish restrictions on what can be seen taking into account the age and type of content). You can change the assigned image using the pencil icon.
- The next thing is, simply, that you accept and use the Save option. From this moment you can choose the profile you have created.
On Smart TV
- Launch the app as usual, and once the initial animation is over, you’ll see the screen listing all the profiles you have.
- Go down with the remote control until you select the icon with the ‘+’ symbol, which is your own to add a new one.
- Using the onscreen keyboard, enter the name and tap Next. If you want to change the image, go to the Icon section and click on it to choose other possibilities. You can also choose to make the Netflix profile for children here.
- Click Done and you’re done. It’s all that simple.
