Got late? Zoom partners with OpenAI to summarize meetings using artificial intelligence

OpenAI became the center of attention thanks to ChatGPT and its solutions integrated with Microsoft services. Now she’s also collaborating with Zoom to make conferences smarter with AI-generated summaries so those who were late or missed meetings see a full summary of what was covered.

Called Zoom IQ, the new tool was announced today and will initially be available to a select number of users of the app. With it, Zoom will be able to summarize everything that was covered in the meeting using notes taken during the conference.

Say a team member attending your Zoom meeting runs late, they can ask Zoom IQ to summarize what they missed in real time and ask more questions. If they need to create a whiteboard session for the meeting, Zoom IQ can generate one based on text snippets. When the session is over, Zoom IQ will summarize the meeting and post that recap to Zoom Team Chat, even suggesting actions for owners to take.

Zoom IQ will even allow you to select whether the summary should be long or short and have formal, persuasive, friendly, informal or many other language available. The summary will be available in your Zoom account even after the meeting is over.
