Google announced a series of updates for better integration of its apps in iOS 15.

New widgets and better integration of Google apps in iOS 15

As we mentioned in a previous article, iPhone users already have iOS 15 available to update on their mobiles, along with a series of new features.

And following this development closely, Google has updated some of its applications to take advantage of the new features of iOS 15. One of the options that Google has focused on is the new “Focus” mode, so it will update Gmail, Meet, Tasks , Maps, Home, among other apps.

Although they will show important notifications, taking into account the dynamics of each app, they will follow the line proposed by this new mode to minimize distractions to the user. On the other hand, there are also some novelties in Google applications that take advantage of the new functions of iPadOS 15.

For example, YouTube Music and Google Photos will have larger widgets. From the Google Photos widget, users will be able to access the selection of photos that are combined into Memories, and from the YouTube Music widget, they will be able to view the playlists and albums for easy access to their favorite songs.

While users can already upgrade to iPadOS 15 starting today, the new widgets proposed by Google will be available in a few weeks. But a novelty that you will already find on your iPhone has to do with the Spotlight search.

As is already the case with the Google Drive app on iOS, YouTube Music will also take advantage of this search dynamic. As you see in the images above, when you search for a song or singer with Spotlight, it will show the option to play it directly on YouTube Music.
