Google has introduced a new tool that will have the function of notifying the user if their information appears on the search page. At first, it is called “Results about you” and should go into effect at the beginning of the year 2023. This and other news comes a day after the tech giant’s birthday, which turned 24 this Tuesday (27) .
This is something that can be useful for people in high public office, who appear in the media a lot, or who are victims of Internet harassment. In this way, the system will notify the person and he will be able to request the removal of all data disclosed from the search engine pages.
This ends up being a more practical solution, since currently, in case of a situation like this, the user has to look for the article related to his problem on the support pages. That is, it is much more work and this new tool will serve as a shortcut to obtain the removal of information.
According to Google’s post on its social networks, the feature will not be activated automatically and will have to be done manually. So, those who do not want this type of notification can choose according to their preferences. A restricted group of people had the opportunity to test this novelty last week.

It is worth remembering that after the request is made, the disclosed data does not disappear from the internet, only from the search engine results page. In other words, the site that displays the information will still be live, it just won’t be found as easily.
