Google has started to release a new function for users to have a more integrated experience with the Play Store. On Monday (20), the store now has a option for sync apps across all your devices.
As discovered by user @AssembleDebug from Twitter, the new function allows applications that you download on a device to be automatically installed on all other devices that are connected to the same Google account.
The feature can be found in the “Manage apps and devices” section of the main menu located in the upper right corner of the home screen. When you access the option “Sync apps on devices”, you can find a list of devices connected to your Google account. A brief description can be seen:
Apps you install on that device will also be installed on your synced devices.
The role appears to include phones, tablets, smartwatches, TVs and Chromebooks. It should be remembered that not all devices can support the same app. For example, Apple TV is only available for Android TV, and Facebook cannot be installed on Wear OS watches.
Sync is automatically enabled for smartwatches. It is possible that the company has maintained this setting by default due to the constant pairing of cell phones with smart watches, which allow you to view notifications and perform simple interactions with smartphone apps.
This is yet another addition to the list of news coming to the Play Store. Recently, the store started warning about apps that may not work properly on specific device models. Furthermore, the platform has finally received a design update that supports Android 13’s dynamic colors.
