Originally launched in December 2020, adaptive charging has as its main proposal the gradual delivery of energy to the device, continuously charging slowly to “extend battery life”, reaching 100% close to the scheduled time.

However, since its inclusion, the functionality has been somewhat hidden in the settings of the devices that have it on board, something that, at least apparently, Google decided to correct in its devices with a recent update.

According to information provided by the people of 9to5Google, the novelty arrives almost a year after it was spotted in a test build of Android 13 that brought, in April, the first mention of a notification that allows you to easily disable the adaptive charging mode on the Google Pixel line .

It is worth mentioning here that, according to the Google FAQ, the adaptive charging mode is the connection to the charger between 9 pm and 4 am with an alarm set for the period between 3 am and 10 am, measuring the best pace to deliver energy at the time of awakening.

When you charge your phone between 9:00 pm and 4:00 am with an active alarm set for 3–10:00 am, your phone may use adaptive charging. This feature must be enabled for your phone to use it.

With this, the user can easily choose to “turn off once” adaptive charging, thus avoiding having to go through the classic path of functionality, which is also available in Settings > Battery > Adaptive preferences.

For now, the novelty has not been officially confirmed by Google in its publications and alerts about new updates, but apparently, this addition is being released gradually to users with some reports already appearing on the reddit forum and should especially favor Google devices with Android 13, including Google Pixel 4 and later.
