google pixel fold: these could be the first official images

The arrival of Google Pixel Fold is now imminent if we consider that it will be presented on May 10th during the opening conference of Google I/O 2023. After knowing the latest technical details a few days ago, in these hours that one has appeared online which we could define as the first official-looking image of the Google folder.

The sharing came from the prolific Evan Blass, better known on Twitter as @evleaks, who posted a few hours ago a couple of shots from the official look of the Pixel Fold, which highlight some completely new details. The two images are almost certainly press renders used for marketing purposes and show the Pixel Fold in its darkest colour, which will presumably be identified as “Charcoal”.

The two shots highlight only the external part of Pixel Fold and allow you to better see the hinge of the foldable, as well as providing further clues about the thickness of the device. Although we could simply be faced with a game of intelligent angles, the foldable actually seems very thin compared to the proposals of the main competitors, primarily Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4. Let’s take a closer look at it in the two complete images below.

Thanks to the image in which the device is completely open, we can see the larger proportions of the external display, and the device also seems considerably shorter than a typical latest generation smartphone or other foldables on the market. Like other Pixels, the home screen shows the Pixel Launcher, with themed icons enabled and showing stock apps from Google.

While there are no definitive indications, the Google Pixel Fold will likely be available for purchase from June 27 for $1,799 in the base model with 256GB of storage, while it will increase to $1,919 for the one with 512GB of storage.

While we wait to find out more, we just have to laugh a look at the “almost” complete datasheet” of the device.
