A software feature that has long been known on the web is coming to Google Lens for Android: the ability to quickly open the image search through a dedicated button that appears on the main page of the app, at the bottom right of the image that has just been analyzed. By clicking on the icon, the system will search for images similar to the one analyzed on Google Images.

On the web (always mobile, of course), instead of the icon there is a slightly more didactic button, called “find image source”, which is positioned above the analyzed image, instead of at the bottom right. According to what the colleagues of 9to5googlethe reports are starting to spread mainly in the US, but for now it is not universally available. For our part, we have zero feedback in the editorial office.

With this new procedure Google Images search is almost as convenient as it used to be, when it was enough to long press on an image to open the context menu and choose the appropriate item. There is an extra step, namely the opening of Lens, but at least it is better than downloading the image, and uploading it to images.google.com – after all, after having gone there manually.

At the same time, we report that Google Search for mobile is implementing a series of icons to describe the various search categories, as you can see in the fourth image of the gallery above. It is a style more in line with what happens on the web desktop; so far the mobile version was text only – and instead of the “pill” buttons there are simply vertical dividing lines.
