Little by little, cloud services are scratching functionalities that correspond to specific applications that we have on our mobile, tablet or computer. This is the case, for example, of video or audio files, that you don’t have to go to a third-party app to see or hear what they say. Just tap on the document to start playback from the folder in the cloud. Google Drive has been, until now, the one with the fewest specific options for these things and, we cannot deny it, it is quite spartan in terms of multimedia possibilities. But those of Mountain View seem determined to correct it as soon as possible, as has been the case in the last few hours where they have announced an interesting option inherited from that podcast ecosystem that is so fashionable. Google Drive for Android The fact is that the Google cloud has dressed up in recent days to receive an update that could go unnoticed by most users, such as the possibility that when playing an audio file (either a conference, a work meeting, an interview, etc.) we can accelerate your speed to take less time to listen to you. Options practically identical to those of certain podcast apps or, more recently, Netflix in its series and movies and WhatsApp for the audio notes. With these new functions, you will simply have to touch on the new speed control to more or less speed up what we listen to and even slow it down if it is to take notes and give us time to write. As you can see, very useful functions that collide, unfortunately, with the few users around the world who must refer to Google Drive as an application in which to manage audios and other similar files. In addition to that playback control, from the Google Drive for Android patch notes we get news that the notification controls have undergone some changes aimed at better adjusting what we want the app to notify us when there is a change in files, folders or contents. This update is starting to arrive and it seems that they have to do with the server side, that is, until Google activates it for our account we will not have the option to test its new functions. So we have to wait a few days yet.
