Google Discover is beginning to show the news we select for reading in a different way.

Although the presentation of the news in the feed does not undergo any change, we will no longer see the selected news in full screen. We tell you what change is about.

Google Discover changes the way news is displayed

In a previous article, we told you that Google Discover has a new filter system that allows us to specify which topics of a news item we are not interested in. This allows Google to recommend news to us that are tailored to our interests.

And now we know a new Discover novelty that is already being implemented on Google Pixels. As mentioned in 9to5Google, Discover changes the way of displaying the news that we select from the feed to provide greater fluidity.

When you click on a news that is presented in the Google Discover feed you will see that it automatically opens full screen. This dynamic is what is changing, since now the selected news is displayed in a tab that emerges from the bottom.

While you can easily read the entire article just by scrolling down the page, you’ll feel like you’re in a pop-up window. So instead of going in and out of Discover to read the news that interests you, you’ll have windows that open to show you the content, but without losing sight of the feed.

It seems like a more practical dynamic, since it will allow us to open and close the news without leaving the Discover feed. So if we are not interested in an article, we simply move on to the next one and that’s it. And on the other hand, this change may not convince some users, since a bit of space is lost at the top, forcing them to scroll down the page.
