O Google announced its first foldable device earlier this month, but it looks like the Pixel Fold wasn’t the only one being developed by the company. The information comes from Ivy Rosswho is the company’s head of hardware product design and confirmed in a podcast about this other model:
I’m really proud of the team because there was another foldable model that we came up with that we had the discipline to hold on to and say ‘no, it’s still not good enough’ and really wait until we felt like we could do something that was good enough or better than the that already existed.
According to the portal wccftech, some rumors have recently raised the possibility that Google is developing a foldable cell phone in the same line of design as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip line. But, you can’t say if it’s the same model mentioned by Ross in his speech.
In any case, information about this other foldable smartphone should not appear so soon and, moreover, it may be that details only appear through leaks. For example, it is worth remembering the model with a rollable screen from LG, which was even announced, but never reached the market and until a video was leaked showing the item, I did not know much about it.
Meanwhile, the Pixel Fold is doing well on the sales side and has become unavailable in US stores. The main features of the model include a triple 48 MP camera, Tensor G2 processor, OLED type screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.
The Google Pixel Fold is not yet available in Europeian stores. To be notified when it arrives click here.
