google chrome 106 is now available for PCs and in the android version the browser receives an improvement that can go unnoticed. This is because the application must use a new method to count open tabs.
Previously, all open tabs within a group were considered as one, but with the change everything will be counted towards the total result.
With this, many users must be faced with a high number of open tabs, since the new format reflects the reality of what is happening inside the browser.
As you can see in the example above, before the change it was possible to see that the group of tabs counted as one and this made the browser consider that there are only two tabs open.
With the update, the number jumped to five tabs, something useful for those who care about consumption or have a smartphone with little RAM.
For now, the novelty is being released slowly and gradually through batches.
