The absence of this split keyboard mode in Gboard caused most users of a folding device not to change the default keyboard of the manufacturer, which did implement the split keyboard as Samsung Keyboard.
With Gboard Beta Finally, the divided keyboard has arrived for this type of device that, when unfolded, becomes a tablet, which now allows us to write with the thumbs of the hand without having to release the device.
Users who have a foldable device will receive the split keyboard for the next few days or weeks. This new design can be activated from Gboard’s own top toolbar, where we will see a divided keyboard icon. It can also be activated from the keyboard settings, where it informs that some of the keys can be duplicated as we see in the previous screenshot, where the ‘G’ and ‘V’ keys appear duplicated.
