Footage shows moment more than a dozen armed gardai storm south Dublin flat before man arrested

This is the moment more than a dozen armed gardai stormed a flat at a south Dublin complex yesterday evening.

The operation was carried out in the area of Townsend Street at around 6pm.

The dramatic video shows armed officers drag a man to the ground after the door of the property is opened.

Other gardai then stream inside the home while the man is subdued on the ground.

A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live a small amount of drugs were discovered during the raid and one man had been arrested.

She said: “Gardaí attached to Pearse Street Garda station carried out search operation at a residential property on Townsend Street on Friday evening 9 th July, 2021 at approximately 6p.m.

“During the course of the search a small amount of drugs was located and one man arrested and detained under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He has since been released and investigations are ongoing.”
