The family of a seven-year-old girl whose beloved dog went missing earlier this week have pleaded with the public for help reuniting her with her best friend.
Leona Maughan’s Miniature Chihuahua Lily went missing on Wednesday in Dublin 7 and was last seen in the Phoenix Park.
The devastated little girl’s aunt Ellen O’Donnell told Dublin Live she has been crying for hours every day since the one-and-a-half-year-old pup disappeared and the family are offering a reward to anyone who finds Lily.
She said: “The poor little girl Leona is heartbroken.
“If anybody seen Lily, please could you bring her home. We will even offer €1,000 just to bring Lily home to her family where she belongs.
“Leona can’t sleep at night knowing her dog is not home and it’s crying for up to nine hours a day. Please everybody try help us.”
Ellen added that Lily had been spotted a number of times by the public but so far no one has been able to catch her.
Anyone who manages to find Lily or has any information is asked to contact Ellen on 085 1762125.
