Facebook improves the clarity and access to content in its social network. In the future, the posts of friends, pages and groups can be seen in chronological order under the “Feeds” tab. The central starting point is the now primary “Home” tab, as Facebook announced on Thursday. Here users will find suggestions for content tailored to them. They can also quickly access reels and stories there.
“Feeds” and “Home” tabs
Users can control which content is displayed by whom in the “Feeds” tab via a favorites list with friends and pages. Recommended content is not displayed in the “Feeds” tab, so users can target content created by their favorite people, pages, and groups.
The “Feeds” tab appears at the top of the shortcut bar on Facebook’s Android app, and at the bottom on iOS. Which tabs are displayed in which position also depends on the frequency of use. If you want, you can also anchor the tabs firmly in the shortcut bar. “Feeds” does not yet appear for all users. According to Facebook, the new feature “should be available worldwide over the next week.”
In the central “Home” tab, users can discover new content. You can also create posts, reels and stories here. Here you can also see what your contacts are sharing in their feeds and stories. The recommendations and their order are coordinated depending on the use of Facebook. Facebook uses machine learning to be able to offer such an individual feed.
