Recently distributed by PlayStation Plus, Evil Dead: The Game got a new free game mode this week. The Splatter Royale mode is now online and allows players to experience an intense battle royale in this iconic adaptation inspired by the films of the Evil Dead franchise.
Splatter Royale, the 40-player battle royale mode in Evil Dead: The Game, features two new weapons – the long-range grenade launcher and the scythe – as well as new premium character Ruby Knowby, voiced by Lucy Lawless. There is also the new free Kandarian Facelift costume for Pablo.
Alongside the free battle royale mode, players can also get hold of the Immortal Power DLC Bundle, which includes Ruby Knowby, who – as a shadowy one – can regenerate health, increase her resistance to possession, and increase her weapons damage. She can also “consume souls to make her aura stronger and charge her unique ability, unleashing a deadly blast that damages evil units within range and heals nearby survivors”.
Other new features included in the paid DLC are new outfits for Kelly, Pablo, Ash vs Evil Dead and Puppeteer Demon Class.Just like the base mode, Splatter Royale is full of dismemberment, blood, demonic creatures and lots of fun.Unfortunately, to access the new mode, you need to purchase the base game.
Evil Dead: The Game is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC via the Epic Games Store and NVIDIA GeForce Now.
