Samsung offers the “XCover” line for more adventurous users who face greater risks of damaging their cell phone. The most recent bet is the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro, a smartphone with a resistant construction that has just been put to the test by the PBKreviews to analyze not only its durability, but also its repairability.
In a video published last Monday (26), the channel showed the process of disassembling the robust cell phone, showing the materials and strategies that make the device IP69K certified — attesting to its resistance to jets of water, steam and high temperature. In addition, the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro proved to be very easy to fix.
O PBKreviews assigned the grade 8 out of 10 to the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro. This means that, according to the evaluations of the channel specializing in mobile device maintenance, the model is much easier to repair than the competition, such as the Nothing Phone 1 (grade 3 out of 10) and the iPhone 14 Pro Max (grade 6, 5 out of 10).
One of the biggest problems with current cell phones is the fixed battery, which requires the brand’s technical assistance services to be replaced if necessary. The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro gets around this obstacle by allowing its easy exchange via a removable back coverwhich has seals to protect the internal area against water.
The model has a modular design that makes its repair less complex and, consequently, cheaper. Parts such as the headphone jack and USB-C port are not soldered to the main board, so these components are easy to replace in case of damage.
The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro is not yet available in Europe, but it is sold in Germany with MSRP of €566, that is, about R$ 2,899. The most recent model of the line that debuted on the national market is the Galaxy Xcover Pro, equipped with Exynos 9611, which can be found with prices below R$ 2 thousand.
