Motorists are being advised that heavy traffic is building on the M50 this evening due to an earlier breakdown between J13 Dundrum and J12 Firhouse.

Commuters have also been warned of delays with traffic jams on the rise across Dublin this evening. Over 70 jams have been reported in the capital according to watchdogs Tomtom.com.

Motorists are advised that are reports of a crash on the Chapelizon bypass this evening.

LiveDrive tweeted: “Reports of a collision on the Chapelizod Bypass outbound, after the lights at Kylemore Road.”

Motorists are urged to take care on approach.

Luas Red Line weekend works scheduled
Luas passengers are being advised that there will be temporary closures this weekend.

There will be no Luas Red Line trams running between George’s Dock and The Point on Saturday 9 July and Sunday 10 July, with trams running between Tallaght/Saggart and Connolly only.

A replacement bus service will serve the closed Luas stops between George’s Dock and The Point with some restrictions. Buses will run approx. every 15 minutes on Sat 9 July and Sun 10 July. A valid Luas ticket is required to use the replacement bus service. Please allow extra time for travel.

Luas Green Line services are not affected and will run as normal on Sat 9 Jul and Sun 10 Jul.
