Dublin Fire Brigade has issued car owners a stark warning after firefighters experienced difficulty driving to a call.

Kilbarrack firefighters were on the way to an emergency when they were forced to stop due to not being able to pass parked cars on the road.

Dublin Fire Brigade took to social media to spread the message about leaving space for emergency services on the roads.

They said: “Kilbarrack firefighters had trouble getting to a call this week when they couldn’t pass parked cars.

“Our regular shout out to leave space for emergency services when parking if you are out enjoying the great weather.

“You never know when someone might be in trouble.

“Access is needed 24/7.”

The post was accompanied by a picture of three cars parked on a narrow road, leaving little room for vehicles to pass.

Many Dubs expressed their outrage at the incident, with one person saying “Absolutely disgraceful. They have no consideration when parking.”
