With the arrival of the Coolwalk interface, Google eliminated the time in Android Auto, leaving in its place an icon in the menu that is essentially a quick access to Google Assistant to resolve this issue out loud, something that seems insufficient to us and clearly could be improved. . While it works on its return, perhaps integrating it within Google Maps itself as it is already being deployed through its application, we are left to resort to what we already have, that is, Third-party weather apps compatible with Android Auto and some resources from other apps that help in bad weather.

Weather and radar for forecasting

After testing it thoroughly, Time and Radar is the weather application that I like the most on Android Auto although I already told you that it is a category that is scarce.

Among the reasons for deciding on it (beyond the limited offer) is that it is free, intuitive and extremely visual to be able to view the weather in real time.

The good thing is not so much that you see what is happening with the classic icons of the sun or clouds, it is that it shows you what is going to happen in the next few hours and at a glance you can locate, for example, if it is raining in the surrounding area and if it is a light rain or rain.

Weather & Radar

Your time at a glance! The Weather & Radar application offers you the 90-minute, hourly forecast, the weather today and tomorrow, 7 and 14 days in Spain and any location in the world

Waze also for bad weather

Just as Google Maps will likely soon be updated over time, allowing us to get an idea of what we are going to face on the route, the Waze navigator has a bad weather warning function that is very useful for those who are going to pass through that certain area in the next few hours, it is about the bad weather warning.

To give a bad weather warning We simply have to tap on the speech bubble button in the lower right corner (we have marked it in orange in the photo you see above these lines) and there select bad weather. Here you can find more specific warnings due to bad weather such as slippery road, flood, icy road or fog.
