IOS users have long been waiting to be able to personalize their iPhone as is possible on other brand smartphones.
With iOS 14, iPhone and iPad users have the ability to modify app icons ( with a trick ), create widgets, and hide screen icons so that they appear only in the app drawer.
n addition to these customization options, Apple has improved the Shortcuts with iOS 14 and it is now possible to have the iPhone notify you by voice message when it begins to charge its battery and when it finishes.
In this article we will tell you how to create a shortcut for Siri to notify you when the battery begins to charge, and another to notify you when some major changes have been brought to your digital assistant – Siri, one of the charges reaches 100% .
How to make Siri prompt when you start charging the battery
This shortcut causes your iPhone to announce that it has connected to power (a wired charger or wireless charger) and is charging without you having to check the battery icon at the top.
If you use a wireless charger, this function will help you to know if your iPhone is properly placed on the charging base.
- Open the Shortcuts app and click on the “+” button to create a new Shortcut
- Click on Create personal automation
- Click on the Charger option
- Make sure that only the option “You are connected” is checked and press next
- Click on Add action
- Find “Read text with voice”
- Enter the message you want Siri to read in the Text section (for example, “The iPhone has started charging”)
- Press Show more and modify the options for voice type, language, speed, etc. (⚠ Notice: In my case, I had to choose the voice Monica because Siri female did not say anything)
- Click Next and, on the summary screen, uncheck the option “Request confirmation”
Now every time you plug the charger into the power, Siri will loudly announce that the iPhone is charging.
How to make Siri notify you when the battery is finished charging
This shortcut makes your iPhone announce when the battery reaches 100% charge (or whatever percentage you decide) so you know that it is already charged.
- Open the Shortcuts app and click on the “+” button to create a new Shortcut
- Click on Create personal automation
- Click on the Charger option
- Make sure that only the option “Battery level” is checked, choose “Equal to 100%” (or “is above 95%” if you don’t want to rush to the end) and press next
- Click on Add action
- Find “Read text with voice”
- Enter the message you want Siri to read in the Text section (for example, “The iPhone has already been charged”)
- Press Show more and modify the options for voice type, language, speed, etc. (⚠ Warning: In my case, I had to choose the voice Monica because Siri female did not say anything)
- Click Next and, on the summary screen, uncheck the option “Request confirmation”
Now every time you plug in the charger, Siri will announce loudly when the iPhone is fully charged.
