Disney has a mine with Star Wars and, in addition to the big screen, they can exploit it on television with Disney Plus.

The streaming video platform has several Star Wars series in production and has just been announced. a new Star Wars story that will explore the heroic deeds of the galaxy.

Currently, Disney Plus has the first season of El Mandaloriano. It tells the story of a … well, a Mandalorian who is doing bounty hunter jobs from one side of the galaxy to the other. In his adventures, he meets “baby Yoda”, as the network has called him, and Cara Dune, one of those “heroines of the galaxy”.

Just yesterday we learned that Jon Favreau (one of Disney’s top producers) was preparing the third season of the Mandalorian and that, in addition to the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and the Rogue One prequel centred on Cassian Andor, we will have another Star Wars series soon.

There are not many details of the new production, but as read at Engadget, Leslye Headland will hold the reins of the series in her hands. Headland is one of the minds behind Russian Doll, the critically acclaimed Netflix series (which we highly recommend) and can bring some great narrative insights to this galaxy far, far away.

On the other hand, although we do not know what it is about, the sources suggest that the new Star Wars series will focus on a female character. Surely many of you are thinking of Ahsoka Tano as the protagonist, but it seems unfeasible.

The first because Tano will be one of the novelties of the third season of the Mandalorian. The second … because it seems that this new Star Wars series will move away from the galaxy we know. This means that neither Mandalorians … nor the Skywalker family.

The rumours did not wait and, mixed with personal wishes, start targeting the High Republic, the era of greatest splendour of the Jedi Knights that Disney will explore in-depth in a new series of novels and comics.

Of course, the bad news is that none of the Star Wars series, beyond the second season of The Mandalorian that is expected later this year, has a premiere arc. We will have to wait, but Disney has tons of Star Wars stuff in the bedroom (from blaster rifle).
