Scheduled to launch on May 10th, the Dimensity 9200 Plus processor had more information revealed this week suggesting that the SoC may outperform the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in performance. This claim is based on data from a performance test that apparently belongs to MediaTek’s SoC.
According to the report issued by Geekbech 6, the processor scored 2,121 points in single-core, that is, using a single core, and 5,655 in multi-core. These numbers surpass what was registered by Qualcomm with its flagship, but the difference is not so impressive: 129 and 14 points, respectively.
Apparently, the Dimensity 9200 Plus will have a technical sheet that includes a main core Cortex-X3 operating at a maximum frequency of 3.35 GHz. In addition, the three Cortex-A715 cores may receive a clock increase from 2.85 GHz to 3 GHz with the launch of the Taiwanese manufacturer’s new SoC; there is no data on the other cores.
This datasheet is still a rumor, so consider the possibility of the Dimension 9200 Plus underperforming its main rival after launch. More details will be released in the coming days.
