deezer users can use, starting this Tuesday (27), a new tool added to the app to discover the song that is currently playing through an update in SongCatcher, a feature that works in a similar way to Apple’s Shazam, using AI to analyze the sound and report the track being played.
According to the company, the update adds the ability to find songs through the app just by humming or whistling part of it. This function is not new for people who use Android, since through the Google search engine it is also possible to use the same feature through the “Search for a song” functionality.
For now, Spotify does not have a similar function so that subscribers can search for songs just by recording the audio with the microphone, however, by typing part of the lyrics it is possible to find the corresponding results.
As revealed by Deezer, in Europe the most searched tracks through SongCatches are: As It Was, Harry Styles, in second place Pipoco, Ana Castela and closing the list, São João Chega, Renanzim Pressure. In the global ranking the three most identified songs in 2022 so far are calm downRema, As It WasHarry Styles and Hold My HandLady Gaga, respectively.
“Everyone knows how frustrating it can be to have a song in your head and not remember its name, and we are very proud to be the first music streaming service in the world to give our users the opportunity to identify a track just by humming it, singing it. or whistling directly into the app,” said Alexandra Leloup, VP Core Product at Deezer.
