According to feedback from readers, this problem occurs about every fifth to tenth switch-on process. Some also report that after a restart, the resolution is fixed at 1024 × 768 pixels and they therefore have to reinstall the graphics driver. However, not all systems are affected. We were never able to reproduce the problem with our example of the Ryzen all-rounder.
After evaluating the reports available to us, the current BIOS version for the Asus TUF Gaming B550-Plus (WI-FI) mainboard we are using could solve the problem. Download the update, extract the contents of the zip file onto a USB stick and then update the firmware directly in the BIOS setup using the EZ Flash 3 update tool.
We suspect that the cause of the boot difficulties is a problem with the initialization of the graphics integrated in the Ryzen 5000G, which will probably be fixed by the updated basic firmware from AMD AGESA 1.2.0.6b from BIOS version 2604. Unfortunately, AMD and the board manufacturers publish only sparse information on BIOS updates.
