A while ago, WhatsApp released some additional privacy features. These are to offer a better experience and to be able to compete with other messaging services. If you have a WhatsApp account that is only useful for certain messages and you do not need to save the conversations, this tip is for you. You can set WhatsApp messages to automatically disappear after a certain time. Here we teach you how to do it.

Why automatically delete WhatsApp messages?

It is worth mentioning that the deletion of WhatsApp messages is not something new. Manually, after certain minutes, we can delete something that we want the other user not to see. This tip is completely different. A time parameter is set for the messages to automatically disappear. It doesn’t matter what conversation or contact. Absolutely all messages will disappear regardless of anything other than time.

This can be useful if you don’t want to see or remember conversations you have at work or in a private setting. Also if you are one of the people who thinks that your device has been compromised in some way as if it were spyware. Once you know this configuration nothing will ever be the same.

Disappear messages by default

It is a configuration that is available for both iPhone and Android. You have to follow the following steps

  1. Open the WhatsApp app and go to the app settings
  2. Choose Account
  3. Then in the Privacy section
  4. tap on Default duration in Temporary Messages category
  5. From 24 hours to 90 days are the periods of time in which your messages can disappear.
  6. If you don’t want your messages to disappear, tap the Off option.

By choosing a time pattern, your messages will automatically disappear after that pattern. This is not to prevent other people from seeing your conversations. Copies and screenshots are powerful, so this setting can only support you for the set amount of time.
