A new privacy-focused feature could be rolling out soon to Chrome for Android. A function that will help you when you borrow a mobile or do not want your recent history to be recorded.
Without the need to go through your browser’s settings or manually clear your history, this new feature will erase everything you did in the last 15 minutes.
New quick delete feature in Chrome for Android
A few weeks ago, Chrome for Android added the ability to block browsing sessions in incognito mode. That is, the user can configure the incognito tabs to be locked when the session is closed so that no one can see them when the browser is reopened.
A simple dynamic to take care of our privacy if our mobile is usually handed over, either because we have children at home or indiscreet friends. And soon, a new option will be added that you can use to delete your recent history without having to perform this task manually.
So far, Chrome allows us to delete browsing data from the “last hour”, “last 24 hours”, “last 7 days”, “last 4 weeks” and “forever”. Options that you have to look for within the browser settings. However, the new function that we could see in Chrome will allow us to delete our browsing history of the last 15 minutes.
A dynamic similar to what we find in the Google app with the option “Delete last 15 minutes”. That is, beyond the configuration that we have established to delete the search history, we can take a quick action to delete the last minutes.
In the case of Chrome, before deleting the last 15 minutes, this function would show us all the history. So you could take a quick look before deleting it permanently. At the moment, it is not known when we will see this Chrome feature available in the stable version of Android, so we will have to wait for future news.
