Infinity Ward has confirmed that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will receive Hardcore mode at the launch of Season 2 in February 15th.
Considered one of the players’ favorite modes, it has been absent since the title launched in October and is one of the most requested additions.
The main feature of Call of Duty’s hardcore mode is the reduced HUD and less life, requiring greater skill and caution from the player when entering combat. In an official post, Infinity Ward confirmed that more details will be released on their official blog later this week.

Despite Modern Warfare 2 having a playlist that aims to replace Hardcore mode bringing reduced health and no HUD, players were not satisfied by some differences, such as the new one bringing more health than usual and the zero HUD not bringing names of companions and other useful pointers.
Hardcore mode is one of Call of Duty’s favorite alternate modes, making its debut in Modern Warfare. It stood out for offering skill-focused gameplay and fast-paced combat with three conditions: limited HUD, less blood, and friendly fire. For greater immersion, information such as minimap, equipment and enemy indicators are not present in the mode.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. To check out our review, click here.
