Brave firefighters rushed to the scene of fire in Dublin’s city centre this evening.
Four adults and a child were saved from the dangerous blaze on Gardiner Place.
The quick-thinking heroes used a turntable ladder to save the people from the top floor apartment.
Six people were treated by paramedics at the scene.
Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted: “Four adults and a child were rescued from a top floor apartment by Firefighters using a turntable ladder.
“Six people were treated on scene by Paramedics, however all declined transport to hospital.
“The scene is now with Gardai for investigation which is standard procedure.”
A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí assisted at the scene of a fire in an apartment at Gardiner Place, Dublin 1, shortly before 5pm on Sunday 19th December 2021.
“Two people were taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation (not life threatening).
“There are no reports of any suspicious circumstances at this time.”
