With the Pixel 6a about to go on sale, all eyes are on Google’s next flagships. A couple of weeks ago, during I/O 2022, the manufacturer officially presented the next Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, showing some of its first details without specifying much about its specifications.
Google showed the rear design of the Pixel 7 Y Pixel 7Prowith the new construction and design of the rear module, in which we see that the Pixel 7 Pro will once again be the only model with a rear camera, and the company confirmed that they will carry the processor Google Tensor 2nd generationbut did not show any information about your screens.

This would be the screens of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

It has been discovered in the source code of the Android Open Source Project that Google has created** two new display drivers** for two devices with the cable name “C10” and “P10”, which are the short codes for “Cheetah” ( Pixel 7) and “Panther” (Pixel 7 Pro). These files offer us the first screen specifications of the next generation of Google mobiles.
According to the source code, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are using the exact same Samsung panels (S6E3FC3 and S6E3HC3, respectively) as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. That means the Pixel 7 will have a screen 1080 x 2400 pixels with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz and that Pixel 7Pro will have a screen 1440 x 3120 pixels with a refresh rate of up to 120Hzwhich are the specifications of the previous generation.
Some of the changes that it seems that we are going to find is that the Pixel 7 screen would be a bit smaller despite using the same panel as the Pixel 6. The Pixel 7’s screen would be 1mm narrower and 2mm shorter. This would achieve a minimal improvement in pixel density. On the other hand, the screen of the Pixel 7 Pro is the same size as the Pixel 6 Pro according to the leak.
It seems that Google is working to support a screen almost identical to the one that it would currently be using in the prototypes. The Pixel 7 Pro could use the panel S6E3HC4which is a newer generation than the Pixel 6 Pro, but the improvements seem to be minimal.
It has also been discovered that Google wants to improve the autonomy of the Pixel 7 Pro by adding a native 1080p mode for your screen. When the mobile enters the power saving mode, the rendering would drop from 1440p to 1080p to give less workload to the GPU.
